variations on a theme

It is not unusual for an artist to challenge him/herself to create with self-imposed restrictions. After oil painting for many years, Georgia O'Keefe once sat down to produce a group of drawings with only white paper and black charcoal. In the mid 1980's, Chuck Close created a huge photorealistic portrait of his grandmother-in-law using only his inky black fingerprints on canvas.

Recently, I gave myself the challenge to paint one subject in different compositions. The chosen subject was colored pencils. I hope you enjoy!
